🦒 A Sanctuary for the Forgotten: Inside the Wildlife Orphanage at Daktari

Nestled in the heart of the South African bush, the Daktari Wildlife Orphanage is home to a range of rescued animals who can no longer survive on their own. Here, they find safety, comfort, and respect.

We currently care for species such as bush babies, owls, genets, meerkats, mongooses, rabbits, bearded dragons, and more each animal has a unique story some were found injured on roads, others were confiscated from illegal pet owners, and many were orphaned too young to survive alone. 🦡🦎🦉

Every day, our team of caregivers and volunteers ensures these animals are fed, treated, stimulated, and protected. They clean habitats, monitor health, and adapt care routines to each animal’s specific needs. It’s a full-time commitment 365 days a year ❤️

Running this sanctuary requires resources:

 💊 Veterinary treatments and emergency interventions
 🏡 Enrichment equipment to keep animals healthy and mentally stimulated
